General Information
Henry Taube was born on the 30th of November, 1915 in Saskatchewan, Canada. He dies on the 16th November 2005 (at the age of 89), in California, USA. He was a renowned and very important chemist to history.
University Education and Early Career
Taube attended the University of Saskatchewan and earned his Bachelors and Masters degree. He then attended University of California, Berkeley and earned his Ph.D in 1940. He He became an US citizen shortly after this, in 1942. He then went onto become a chemistry professor, and taught at Cornell University, and the University of Chicago before joining the faculty of Stanford University in 1962. He became professor emeritus in 1990. (1)
Family Life
Henry Taube got married to a woman named Mary, and had three children. Karl, Heinrich and Linda were his three biological children, and his stepdaughter (who died of cancer) was named Marianna. He enjoyed music, opera, and gardening when he wasn’t doing chemistry. (2)
